the brief

Sooshi Mango are steadily becoming one of Australia's premier sketch comedy groups, having started by posting sketch videos on Youtube and evolving into an international force with a touring stage show, podcasts, their own restaurant, and a mere 70 million views across their YouTube channel.

As the group were growing in popularity and preparing to embark on their biggest Australia tour to date, the Sooshi Mango brand needed an extensive range of designs to match. Pairing this, they wanted to anchor the range to be more 'Rock & Roll' esque, evoking the sense of vintage band merchandise, which would make the designs accessible from a fashion standpoint and give the audience more desire to purchase.
 

The RANGE

Getting to work on this range was an absolute delight, as not only did the group have a clear vision the style of the range (which perfectly complemented my style), but they also had a wealth of resources for me to pick and choose from.

While they had a confident idea of how each design would look to best offer variety in the range, they trusted my opinion to execute and create every design, with their array of imagery and group 'lore' enabling me to craft a beautifully diverse yet engaging merchandise range.

One of the exciting parts to this range that I really wanted to nail was the use of halftones. I’ve really been honing in on how to process halftones in Photoshop, and I really nailed this effect on the main tour tee. Turning their incredibly vivid tour poster into an 8 colour screenprint was a huge achievement for me, as the print came out absolutely gorgeous.
